Comment Policy

I love comments - they are as important as anything I write myself. They add knowledge and help build community. Here are a few guidelines that support this site in being a home to open conversations in which people connect, discuss, and share ideas and resources:

1. I delete spam – I have spam filters in place to catch spam comments. If any slip through the filters, I delete them.

2. I delete flames –  If you disagree or have evidence that a post or comment is inaccurate, please share your opinion and information in a courteous manner. If you phrase your comment as an attack, I will delete it.

3. Relevant links in comments are actively encouraged - if you’re leaving a comment and want to include a link to your own or someone else’s site that is relevant to the topic, please do so. This adds to the conversation and improves the blog.

4. Irrelevant links are discouraged – if you leave a comment with a link in it that is unrelated to the post you’re commenting on, it might get deleted. I support you building your blog’s profile through genuine interactions and participation in the community, but not through spammy linking in comments.

5. I allow signatures in comments -  signatures are fine as long as the comments are relevant and add to the conversation. ie if you write a comment that says ‘nice’ or ‘good post’ or ‘great blog’ or ‘try viagra’ and then leave a signature on your comment, it might get deleted.

Please join the conversation and add value to the community.
